Adobes New Shared Device Licenses: What You Need to Know Before Migrating

Do you have device licenses in your an Adobe VIP account? If you're not already aware, Adobe just released a change this month that will affect all device license users. They are upgrading the device license to what is now called the shared device license. If this change applies to you, there are a few things below that you may want to keep in mind.

The shared device license will require all users to have a login in order to access the software. In order to facilitate this, you will need to assign your users their designated logins through your Adobe admin account. This can be done through your representative here at Genesis Technologies. If you don't know who your representative is, feel free to reach out to us at sales@genesis-technologies.com to find out.

Migrating your device licenses to the shared device model cannot be undone. If you already have an Adobe account with us, you know that we provide tech and installation support to all of our Adobe customers. If you're not sure how to facilitate the migration, you can reach us via email at sales@genesis-technologies.com and someone will be happy to assist you. If your account is not currently being managed by Genesis Technologies but you need assistance, let us know and we can cover your options.

You have until November 2019 to make the migration. Once the process has been initiated, all of your device licenses will need to be migrated within 30 days or they will cease to work. That said, make sure your entire team is on board with the change before you initate the migration process.

Adobe is discontinuing single app device licenses. What does this mean for anyone who currently has a single app device license? Once you choose to start the migration, if you still need the single app, you'll be required to purchase a single app user license. If you have any questions about the differences between user an device licenses, please feel free to reach out to your representative here at Genesis Technologies.

Hopefully this helps you successfully migrate your device licenses to the new Adobe shared device model! As always, if you have any questions please feel free to give us a chat or reach out to us via phone or email.
